Hey there mé buds. One year later, we’re doing this thing again. This thing being cupping. And we’re meaning we and Two Persons. But can you ever really slurp the same river coffee twice? No. Also, this cupping is at Two Persons snazzy new pop up cafe on Market St and not down in South Philly. So I guess scratch all of that. We’re not doing this again. We’re doing this for the first time and for the last time. And not so much because you can’t slurp the same river coffee twice but alas because this is, as noted before, a temporary pop cafe. It’ll be a full menu cupping, reflecting all the qualities of coffee that make us so damn excited for this time of the year. With flavourz like these, WHO THE FUCK NEEDS THE SHORE? There, we said it. It’s not our fault that we don’t like the shore. Our parents are from here and we didn’t grow up misbehaving in NJ in the summer time. But also maybe that doesn’t explain everything either because our parents don’t even like coffee. Is it nature or nurture? We’ll be asking and maybe answering all of the biggest questions AT THIS CUPPING. Be there.

PS- Listen: (switching from we to I) Coffee is filled with jargon no one understands. While I had a great time above writing potentially controversial/funny things, I didn’t spend any time explaining what a cupping is. And if you’ve been following BTC for a while or if you’re already in the know, then maybe this isn’t worth explaining. While you weren’t born yesterday, a lot of people were and will be forever onward until the end of human times. So, perhaps a little clarification for the uninitiated: a cupping is essentially a tasting/surveying of many coffees, side by side, where coffee is brewed in cupping bowls like unfiltered french presses (it’s immersion brewing). It begins with checking out the fragrances and aromas found in freshly ground and brewing coffee. After that, you wait for the coffee to cool down. Once a palatable temperature is achieved, we take spoons, dip them into the bowls, and sip (or slurp) small amounts of coffee. That’s it. We think it’s a great way to taste and understand the differences between coffees. You should check it out if you’re interested or if you want to meet new people who are probably nerds like us or you.
