Here’s my pitch:
A great roaster right here and TARIFF FREE...
The time has come for me to part ways with my trusty 7.5kg coffee roaster. It’s served me very well 5 years now and my fondness and appreciation for it have only continued to grow as my awareness of what it can do has grown. But these days, I’m roasting on a much larger machine and don’t really have a great reason to keep this beaut!
Some info for ya:
It’s powered by natural gas (for the burner) and 3 phase power (running the motor).
It’s a refurbished cast iron roaster. For those unfamiliar with Barth, they were one of the big 3 German manufacturers of coffee roasters (along with Probat and Gothot). This model Novo Cito was likely manufactured in the mid/late 1950s. I purchased it from the owner of Bonanza Coffee in Berlin, who just finished refurbishing it with his former business partner Brian Højmark Larsen.
The one motor controls all functions. This roaster has probes for bean, environmental, exhaust, and inlet temperature readings. They connect to a phidget and can be plotted with programs like Cropster or Artisan. In my opinion, this roaster has better airflow and better airflow control than other single fan machines because the run from the fan to the drum is much shorter and more direct than L series and Diedrich machines, plus the damper can sit anywhere from 0 to 100% and is clear to see, too.
The machine was typically on 4-6 hours a day, 3 days a week. I cleaned it regularly. Since purchasing it, I’ve replaced the v belt to the fan, the drum sprocket/chain, powertrain sprocket, replaced the static chain tensioner for a dynamic version, and the bearings on the motor. Serviced in April 2025. It’s in really good condition and is a very flexible roaster.
Comes with a chaff cyclone and a phidget for data tracking.
Located in Bethlehem, PA. Asking $18,000 obo. It's palletized and ready to go. THIS PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE SHIPPING. I’m happy to discuss shipping with you.
Thanks!
